Once upon a time, the cowherd friends of Krishna and Balarama told them that they wanted to enter the Talavana forest which was filled with ripe fruits. But, they could not do so as an asura named Dhenukasura in the form of a donkey lived there. Both, Krishna and Balarama told they would protect them. After being assured of their safety, the cowherd boys entered the forest. As soon as Balarama saw the trees laden with ripe fruits, he began to shake the trees vigorously. Hearing this sound, Dhenukasura came charging at Balarama. He kicked Balarama violently with his hind legs. But, Balarama did not move. He caught the hind legs of Dhenukasura, twirled him and threw him on top of a palm tree. The asura fell dead. Everyone returned home happy.

Story Of Chakra Tirtha

Once, there was a brahmana named Padmanabha who was a great devotee of Lord Vishnu. He performed a severe penance on the banks of Chakra Pushkarini. On being pleased with his penance, Lord Vishnu appeared before him. On seeing Lord Vishnu, Padmanabha started to eulogize him. Being pleased with Padmanabha's devotion, Lord Vishnu granted him a boon stating that he would remain eulogizing Lord Vishnu till the end of that Kalpa in Chakra tirtha. There was once an Asura named Surapadman. He was the son of Sage Kashyapa and Maya. He once performed a severe penance to please Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva who was pleased, appeared before him. Surapadman then asked for a boon that no one should be able to defeat him except Lord Shiva's offspring who would be born to Lord Shiva through Lord Shiva's union with a woman. Lord Shiva granted him this boon. After this, Surapadman became very powerful and along with his brothers, Tarakasura and Simamukha conquered the three worlds.
