Mahishasura along with other Asuras then fought a war with the Devas(Gods). The Asuras defeated the Devas. The Devas then approached the trinity gods(Lord Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva). The trinity gods in a fit of rage created a Goddess who was none other than Goddess Durga. All the Devas then offered their weapons to Durga. Goddess Durga then fought a battle with Mahisasura and other Asuras. Soon, she defeated them and all the Devas praised her.
